Class 3 and 4 have been given an exciting opportunity as part of their Design and Technology project. They have been tasked to design, research and make a sandwich to sell in Weltons. The winning design will be chosen by the team at Weltons for them to include on their menu.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed the process of designing a new sandwich. They have evaluated new ingredients; practised their slicing, chopping and grating skills; worked collaboratively in their teams to create a new sandwich and, of course, tasting our final product!

“Having a real-life context and purpose to our project, has inspired the children to create sandwiches which may be beyond their usual tastes” says Mrs Cave, “We have had great fun with this project, and a huge thank you goes to Weltons for their generosity in donating ingredients, and their time, to bring this project to life. We cannot wait to taste the winning sandwich!”

The designs have now been submitted to Weltons who will announce the winning design next week. The winning sandwich will then be available to purchase from Weltons —so watch this space!
