The children love having access to the amazing forest school area at Great Bowden Academy. They enjoy the time exploring, playing and creating, with activities ranging from den building to making pizzas on the open fire. They learn knot skills, have fun playing team games and completing challenges, choose to spend some quiet time in the hammock or use the plentiful natural resources in many inventive ways. We have explored the processes of water filtration, used tools and connected with nature. Each session is different and follows the Forest School ethos by encouraging individual interests and building upon learner knowledge from previous sessions and drawing in from their life experiences. Each child is equipped with a different skill set and Forest School sessions allow for each child to grow and learn at their own pace.
